Pass them colours and ask them what colour they want. Wait for a response. Playing in the sand pit is another great way to connect with your child. Ask your child what they are building with the sand and wait for response. Eye contact with your child is very important and helps make them feel safe and secure. Always encourage your child to make eye contact with you when talking. Getting out in the garden is another great way to start communicating with your child. Planting plants and picking fruit can help them understand how things grow and where food comes from. The use of visual helpers aid in comprehending tasks and reinforce what you are talking about.
