Games to play with your child.

Game 1

1. lay 5 cards out and ask your child to put a button on the card that you ask them to. 2. Repeat till your child has mastered the game .

Game 2

1. Lay out food cards and get your child to help them put them into groups fruit ,vegetables ext. 2 . Tell your child where they come from. Then after a few times see if your child can tell you what they are and where they came from.

Game 3

1. Show your child a flash card and wait for a response. If they are verbal get them to sound it out if non verbal sound it out for them. 2. If your child responds give them a reward at the end of the game .

Game 4

1. Put 5 cards on the table and let your child look at the cards. Turn them upside down and see if they can remember what cards are there. 2. Turn them around to see how many they got right. After a few times your child will get better.

Game 5

1.Lay 5 cards out and let your child look at the cards. Then take one away and see if they know what's missing. Give praise or reward.

Game 6

1. Get cards and objects that go with the card 2. Get a card and ask your child to get the object that matches 3.Point to cards and objects and ask what it is. Wait for a response and make sure you ask your child to look at you when talking.

Game 7

1. Tell your child that you are going to hide something, then show them the toy or treat you will be holding . 2 . Tell your child that they need to close their eyes while you hide the prize 3 . Hide the prize 4 . Have your child open their eyes . 5 . Tell your child to watch your eyes to find where the prize is hidden. If your child cant follow your eyes at first, point to the hiding spot 6. After your child masters the game, let them be the one to hide the prize and direct you with his or her gaze.

Game 8

1.You need a fun hat for this one 1. Chant (your name) has hat ,What do you think about that? She takes of her hat and passes it to ….......!”(name the child and put the hat on his or her head ) 2. Repeat the same chant ,using the name of the child who is now wearing the hat. Let them pass it to another child's head as everyone calls out the recipient name. 3. Go around the circle and play over until the children let you know its the end of the game.
